It’s that time again! Time for our annual CENTURY RIDE. A little something we call the Dirt Skirt 100. Here’s the details:
Time & Location: 8:30 AM, leaving from Assiniboine Park – old zoo entrance parking lot https://goo.gl/maps/ByHbFGJHvy92
Open to all FEMALE cyclists 13+ years of age.
Free for Velodonnas & MCA members.
$10 for non-MCA members. Please bring a signed WAIVER with you:

This is a self-supported ride:
- Come Prepared
- Carry spare tubes, pump, food, water & money for more food/water at local gas stations.
- Bring your mobile phone.
- Aid Stations
- We will have some snacks and water at 4 aid stations – Rosser (25km point), Marquette (50km point), Hwy 26 at PR248 (115km point of the 160km route) & the white horse in St. Francois Xavier (78km/137km points).
- Both Rosser & Marquette have gas stations.
- Bring your Baking!
- If you would like to bake/make ride snacks for sharing please bring them to the start and we’ll get them to the aid stations.

We’ll split up in to different ability/experience groups, set up some obstacles, go for a trail ride. We’ve got something for everyone!

Cindy Brown is leading a “Velodonnas of the North” ride on Monday nights starting at 6:30 PM from Birds Hill Park school parking lot in the town of Birds Hill.

We are so excited to announce that we’ve found a ride leader for weekly MOUNTAIN BIKE rides!
Thanks to Emily Payne, Velodonnas members who are off-road enthusiasts now have a weekly ride to look forward to.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS from May through September. Ride meeting locations will vary. Please check the Wednesday Night Rides page or our event Calendar for the schedule.
As with all club rides – you must be a Velodonnas club member to participate. Non-members are welcome to come try a ride before joining (please bring a signed waiver with you).

The forecast for Sat April 16th is just ridiculous (5C, rain, and a strong north wind? no, thanks) so we’ve made the executive decision to hold the time trial on Monday instead.
Monday Night Ride – April 18th – new location!
Birds Hill Park – North Dr. meet at Chickadee lot #2 (roadside parking area)
6:00 PM to sign-in (if you are doing the time trial) and warm up
6:30 PM MNR Group Ride start
6:31 PM Time Trial starts (30 sec or 1 min intervals)

2016 is going to be GREAT! Velodonnas has renewed it’s club affiliation with the Manitoba Cycling Association and you can now sign up to become a bonafide Velodonnas club member!
Club membership is super affordable at $35/year and the benefits are numerous. For example, all of our Skill Clinics are free for club members, members get a break on our indoor training session fees and only members can purchase our fabulous new team kit at COST.
The catch is that you will also need to purchase a membership with the MCA – General Membership, Citizen License or full UCI Race License – your choice.
