Interested in the local cyclocross racing scene?

There is a Cyclocross race every weekend from Sep 9th to Oct 29th. Check out the full calendar of events here:
Most races will require a MCA racing license but not all. Be sure to check the race details when they become available closer to each date.

What is Cyclocross?

Cyclocross is everything. Cyclocross is life. 😉

Cross is Coming

Happy September 1st!

You know what’s great about September? Cyclocross.

You know what’s great about Cyclocross? Everything.

Starting next week Friday nights are cyclocross training nights with the Velodonnas. Join us 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Whittier Park for an hour of circuit training where we’ll try to master the beauty and grace of dismounts & remounts, bike carries & barriers, run ups & off camber switchbacks. It will transform you.

What to bring?

  • Your cyclocross or mountain bike. Remove your bottle cage (carry a bottle in your jersey pocket).
  • HELMET (obviously), gloves, spare tube (with tire lever, pump)
  • Emergency contact with medical alert information (e.g. a card in your pocket, Road ID wristband)
  • Rear flashing light and front light IF you are traveling to and from Whittier Park on your bike. BE SEEN out there on the roads! If you are driving then the lights are not necessary.

Attention: Time Change for MNRs

Hey gals, starting next week August 24th & 31st we need to meet/be ready to roll at 6:30 PM from the usual location (Extra Foods 740 St. Anne’s Rd). Daylight hours are waning!

Please bring your lights (front and rear) especially if you ride to/from our meeting place.

Come September, there won’t be time for an evening road ride so the Monday Night Rides are going to switch to cyclocross circuit training sessions (mountain bike friendly). More details on that to come (as soon as I figure them out).

Also, I might move the weekly date to Wednesday nights but I will stick with Mondays if more people want that. Please email me with your preference Monday nights or Wednesday nights in September? Let me know. ~Karin
